JAMAR Radar Recorders
The radar recorders are automatic traffic data collector units that provide a non-invasive mechanism to collect data on vehicle speeds, lengths, gaps and volumes. The units are battery powered and can run for approximately 7 days before needing to be recharged. The unit is installed by attaching it to a roadside pole (typically utility) at a height that is approximately level with the traffic stream. The unit can collect bi-directional and multilane data. Data is stored internally in a proprietary format and downloadable to a pc using the vendor’s software. Please note – the units use rechargeable batteries and have a run time of approximately one week before they must be replaced with a fully charged battery.
