LTAP Webinar Recordings
The Iowa Local Technical Assistance Program’s webinar library is being continuously updated with new, relevant recordings that may be of interest to Iowa’s local agencies.
Since spring 2020, the Iowa LTAP has organized approximately one-hour long webinars in various transportation-related subjects that are applicable to local agency employees. These hourlong webinars are now typically held monthly, with the exception of a summer break, and links to the recordings where permitted are posted below.

Description: This LTAP webinar led by Roy Sturgill, an assistant professor at Iowa State University, summarized a research study that investigated utility permitting requirements and the variability of permitting practices and that suggests there is a need to work toward more uniform utility permitting practices across cities, counties, and municipalities for building practice efficiency and data uniformity. Description: This LTAP webinar led by Peter Savolainen, an MSU Research Foundation Professor and Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University, discussed his recently completed project that examined driver comprehension of the zipper merge using a road user survey, which provided insights as to how well drivers understand and comply with this lane control strategy.
